Sky Watch: Garbejaire

This will be the last Sky Watch in January...unbelievable, isn't it? I'm sure someone must have spun the planet a little faster.
This is Garbejaire, the modern part of Valbonne where an attempt has been made to incorporate Provencal charm into the design of the buildings but it was only when I caught sight of the reflection of the building and that blue sky did I see the possibilities.

We've been having a lot more weather this Winter than we're used to in this part of the world though I'm heartily glad that the blizzard that struck Marseilles, just a 2 hour drive away, passed us by.
Snow is all very well in its place like up in those hills but, please, not in my back yard!

There's not much of it but what there is is such a startlingly bright blue I had to share it. This is the winter sky above Valbonne on Christmas Eve, clear, cold and blue. We've had such awful weather recently that I must admit to feeling entitled to this.

I took this on Christmas Eve fresh out of the hairdresser's and ready to party....they offer customers a glass of festive champagne on Christmas and New Year's Eve which turns the blowdrying thing into a zen moment.....

As we live on a hill facing mainly west we do get good sunsets. This one wasn't as dramatic as some but the neighbour's garden fire gave it a nice romantic look..if you don't mind the dioxins!

First Sky Watch Photo

This is my first Sky watch post so I've got my fingers crossed that I've done everything right..
This is the view north from home. I've taken a few sky photos from here as we do get quite a lot of "weather" from that direction. Storms sweep down from the mountains then follow the valley which is just beyond those buildings and eventually go out to sea so we have all the pleasure of watching the drama of a storm with no inconvenience to ourselves. This one promised more than it delivered in the end.
