2 CV

A Deux Chevaux traffic jam! This was the sight that met my eyes when I emerged from the underground parking in Grasse this morning. It wasn't a complete surprise as I knew that this was the weekend of the 12th annual 2 CV international get together but I was disappointed to realise I'd arrived too late to walk round the cars before they took off on a tour round the area. This is the possibly one hundred cars trying to leave the car park at the same time..
More about the car and the event tomorrow

Looking Towards Chateauneuf de Grasse

Built in a spiral around the church Chateauneuf de Grasse is another of the perched villages of the region. You had a peek of it in the Skywatch post. This is yet another peek. It's impossibly photogenic from a distance and while it's a pleasant enough place it doesn't really deliver the goods when you get closer. Sorry, Chateauneuf..
The house in the foreground is a rather unimaginative box type design but is redeemed by that lovely faded pink wash.

Sky Watch Friday

It's pretty well Autumn and the weather is changing; dramatic clouds build up in the mountains but usually disperse harmlessly towards evening. Looking north west, you can see the village of Chateauneuf de Grasse huddling under a menacing cloud; the prealps of Grasse are in the background.
