Theme Day: Glass
This is a photo I took a while ago when I first started Nice Daily Photo. It's the Salon Royal of the Hotel Negresco on the Promenade des Anglais being prepared for the new year's celebrations. The hotel was built during the Belle Epoque which you can see evidence of in the beautiful glass ceiling while the chandelier was made by Baccarat and is composed of more than 16, 000 crystals. ..It's huge but is dwarfed by the size of the room..
These are other theme day participants:

That really is a touch of glass, I mean class. A truly iconic image for the theme. I intend to go in there next time in Nice.
What a wonderful picture. It would be great to be able to see this room in person.
Fabulous Angela. What a beautiful room and amazing chandelier. Great shot.
I'm sure New Year's in that room would be a special experience. It's gorgeous.
I love that stained glass cieling. The chandelier is amazing, but I don't like that style.
So wonderful hotel.
Can we get in easily.
I remember seeing that magnificent chandelier somewhere but this is the first time I'm seeing the glass dome. It's fabulous! Awesome choice for theme day!
Yes, Catherine. It's actually part of the art gallery in the Negresco. If you enlarge the photo you can just make out some of the paintings hung round the edges..
Angela, Blogger must be on the fritz. My photo didn't appear on the previous comment and I thought that was really strange. One never knows what kinds of problems they'll have with Blogger. At least my blog didn't disppear altogether like it has for some people.
It links now. It was a glitch.
Gorgeous Angela!
this is a gorgeous room. I would love to attend an event in the room. Such ambience
Beautiful glass ceiling! And atmosphere too!
Elegance and light really describe that room. The chandelier is gorgeous, but I pity the cleaner that has to polish those 16,000 crystals:)
Well done!
I need to see this in person Angela. It's gorgeous!

That's an impressive amount of glass! Very pretty.
I love this photo because of the splendid variety! I, too, have a chandelier today, but don't have the marvelous dome nor the eye-catching red chairs.
