There's something very comforting about chocolate cake which makes it indispensable for a 50th birthday..

And, whose birthday is that, may I be so bold as to ask?!

Not mine, Kate. I've already enoyed my 50th. This was the birthday of a friend who was dreading it...don't know why. Isn't 50 the new 40 or something?

Make that the new thirty. I'm telling people I'm in my twenties, lol!

That cake looks sooo yummy! I love cream fillings and there's just something about glistening chocolate that's so mesmerizing.

For turning 50, I'd take two pieces of cake!

The fifties so far have been so much better; less hormonally challenging, for one thing! Happy returns to your friend. Be not afraid. Things get better.

Looks decadently delicious. Best wishes to your friend.

This is simple and perfect for turning 50! By this age, you're done with extravagance, right? :-)

Joyeux anniversaire Angela. Belated, but sincere.
