Fast Food

You know those moments when you arrive home with little energy or motivation for slaving over an evening meal...here's the answer: the pizza caravan. If you've been to the south of France you'll have seen these caravans dotted round the villages cooking up home made, well sort of, pizzas on a wood stove. The pizzas are truly mouthwatering.
We've got two caravans in the village, Pizza Flam' and Pizza Joseph. We prefer La Flam' shown here, the base of their pizza is finer and it's not too heavy on the cheese; others swear by Joseph, I find his cheese too salty and my daughter likes Chouchou, a little further away, true, but the bases are wafer thin and crusty.
Restaurants do take away pizzas too but, somehow, against all logic or reason these caravans produce a tastier pizza...

This really is unique. I don't think we have anything like it. We do, of course have sandwich wagon that tend to drive around construction sites to serve up lunch for the workers. But this quite nice!

I like your clever title for this post! And now I'm hungry to taste one of those pizzas. Perhaps taste the pizzas from the other two you mention to see which I might prefer. Do each of them charge about the same fee?

Great photo and story. We have nothing like this here in Tasmania. Is there a certain ‘French twist’ to the pizzas?

WEll one of the best pizzas I ever had was in Paris. I am sure the pizza caravan's are scrumptious too. THe best part is they arrive HOT!

This is awesome! We don't have anything like this mobile pizzeria here...particularly made over a wood fire!

There is a pizza place...or was...in Paris near the Place de l'Europe where we used to stay. It was always really, really good, but living so near Chicago, nothing beats our deep-dish style pizza!

I'm not sure I'd ever think to order a pizza from one of these vans. French pizza seems like an oxymoron but I'm sure they do it well.
